IB Pre Summer School Class The summer vacation is the time to consolidate your learning and prepare for the year ahead. In July 2009 Oxford Study Courses will once again hold its Pre-IB Summer Schools for students about to start their IB Diploma.

We will be back at Oxford University in the UK, and at Harvard University and MIT in Boston in the USA, giving another generation of IB students a unique opportunity to sample a way of life enjoyed by students at these prestigious universities.

The Pre-IB Summer School is a 3 week course designed specifically for students who are about to start their IB Diploma in the following school term and will take their exams in 2011.

Here is what you can expect from the US Pre-IB Summer School:

Course Orientation providing students with an overview of the IB Diploma and how the OSC Pre-IB Summer School will prepare them for it
highly experienced IB teachers from excellent IB schools, many of whom are examiners
dedicated team of Social Activity Organisers providing exciting and varied activities in the afternoons and evenings
focused academic programme covering core IB subjects designed to help students reach the required entry level for their IB Diploma
at least 52.5 hours of class time
customised programme; adjusted to the student's needs - see 'Creating your programme' below.
optional extra classes and Careers Consultation designed to support your IB studies
2 hours reviewed homework every night
small groups (normally 8 - 10 per group)
evening study groups
reports written for all core module classes and any optional extras taken
beautiful stimulating university environments
increased confidence, new friends and experience of university life
students will begin their IB Diploma knowing they could not have been better prepared

Creating your programme

The Pre-IB Summer School has four elements from which you can customise a summer school programme unique to you:

1	Core modules that cover the most fundamental aspects of the IB Diploma
2	Optional extra classes that will support your studies
3	Careers and college advice options during the 3 week course and the option of adding on the University Tour in the UK or the University Applications Course in the USA.
4	A fantastic social programme led by our Social Activity Organisers plus your own free time to explore and have fun with friends.
