Introduction to Calculus
Pre-IB Science
Applying to US Universities

Optional classes run for two hours on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons i.e. 4 hours per week. The afternoon enrichment programme will run on Monday and Tuesdays with Friday afternoons left free for homework, project work, sports and social activities.

Students are only able to take one additional class per week.

Academic English - this is a two week course (8 hrs) and is for students for whom English is not their first language. The course will:

	improve accuracy - oral and written
	improve fluency - oral and written
	improve and increase vocabulary and spelling

Introduction to Calculus - calculus is now a compulsory part of all three Mathematics courses and this intensive course introduces many of the key concepts. You will learn:

	where calculus fits into your maths syllabus
	the basics of differentiation and integration
	to use calculus in different applications

Pre-IB Science - for those of you who would like to take an additional science class to the one you have chosen for your morning classes. You can choose from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Classes will:

	introduce the principles and methods of scientific observation
	look at experimental method and data presentation in the preferred IB style
	You will also look at the specific requirements for your subject.

'Applying to US Universities' - if you are planning to apply to University in the USA this course is definitely for you. The application process is very different from other countries and can be confusing. This course will give you all the information that you need to prepare a successful application. You will find out all about:

	how to choose your University and the application timeline
	what tests you need to take - SATs ACTs or TOEFL
	completing the application form and writing the all important essay
