These
guides have been written to reflect the
modular nature of the syllabus. The Higher
Level guide is broken down into the six
specified modules, and each section is
followed by two exam style questions similar
to those that will be faced in the examination
Paper 2; a short case study followed by
structured questions. These set out to
test the variety of skills (knowledge,
analysis and evaluation etc.) that the
examiner will be looking for in responses
from the better candidate.
Similarly,
the Standard Level guide is divided into
the four relevant syllabus modules.
Jo Toy
read Economics at St Catharine’s
College, Cambridge and has
been teaching Business Studies and Economics
for fourteen years,
with experience of both IB and A Level.
He was Head of Economics
and Business Studies at Sevenoaks School
for 3 years. He has been a valued member
